Tara's Shower

I went to Tara's baby shower yesterday and had a great time! It was hosted by her mother-in-law Kathy and good friend Rosanna. We had lots of delicious food and played some great games. After the shower, we headed to Jeff and Tara's house to put some finishing touches on the baby's nursery. Isn't it the cutest?

Here is a picture of all of us eating the delicious food that was there. Lots of sweets plus a few yummy hash brown casseroles!

Jay and I are super excited to be sharing these special moments with our friends. We look forward to November and the birth of baby Alistair!

A New Chapter

I went to the Social Security office today to start the process of changing my name. While I have dreamed about this since I was a little girl, practicing writing my first name with my crush's last name, I didn't realize that it would affect me as it did today.

I actually changed my name at work about 6 weeks ago at the start of a new job. I thought it would be a great way to ease into my new name and make it easier on my future business contacts. While I'm sure it prevented a bunch of confusion in the workplace, I was not prepared for the sadness that came over me as I signed that paperwork this afternoon. I almost felt like I was breaking up with my old self. Like I was losing something that I had carried as a part of me for the past (almost) 30 years.

I do realize that in fact I was simply closing a chapter (or really quite a few chapters combined) of my life and reading the first few sentences of the rest of the book! I am so happy and excited to be married to Jay and am very proud to take on his family's name. Most importantly, I can be sure that I am still the same person I was this morning...the "event" has confirmed that my emotions are where they always have been!

A few favorite pics

As promised, I'm posting a few more pics that I like from the wedding. It was a hard wedding to shoot with a "regular" camera because our church is kinda dark - so some of my favorites are pretty fuzzy (but I still like them!). We're looking forward to getting some professional photos soon to share with you! In the meantime, these should do the trick!

Already a blog-reader fan favorite - Jay and I with the twins (in their tuxes!)

Wedding Photos

In order to help consolidate all of the lovely photos many of you have been sending us, we have created a KodakGallery account for all the pictures. Please email us if you'd like the username & password and I will send it as soon as I can. I have already saved about 8 albums on there for everyone to look through - figured it was so much easier than forwarding everyone's albums back and forth! You can not only look at the albums, but can upload your own photos from that weekend to the account as well!

In either case, we would love to have your photos (email, on CD, etc.) if you are able to send them to us. We can even upload the pics to Kodak for you!

I promise to post some of our favorite pics we have received so far shortly. It is quite a task going through all of them! In the meantime, here is one of my favorite pics that was on my camera. We had this taken at RiRa - an Irish pub on Church Street after the reception. It's a long story, but Guiness is a special drink for us so we had to end the night with a glass!

Newlyweds!

Now that we are hitched, we thought that starting a blog would be a great way to keep in touch with family and friends. Please bookmark our blog and check often for updates from both Amie and Jay as we start our new life together as husband and wife!
